Lesley’s work with animals addresses the following:

  • Behavioral Issues; such as bad habits and unfounded fears; she has also had great success working with rescued animals to help them shed their painful pasts.
  • Physical Issues; such as lameness
  • Purchase Evaluations; such as trainability, physical stability and activity interests

In situations where a physical or behavioral situation requires further attention, Lesley will refer you to the appropriate professional; such as a chiropractor, Feldenkrais practitioner, horse trainer, dog trainer or holistic vet. Be sure to check the Links button for resources. Her goal is to help you pinpoint the source of the issue. In some situations, the communication with the animal will be enough to shift them through their block, helping them return to their center. The following are specific applications:

Lesley is frequently asked to explain a horse’s odd behavior; for example, its inability to enter a trailer. She prefers that owners work in tandem with professional horse trainers while working with any aggressive behavior.

Physical issues most commonly addressed involve pain or problems with movement. This can sometimes be the result of poor saddle fit, or the need for a physical therapy.

In evaluating a horse for purchase, Lesley can determine its positive qualities and challenges. She can determine its long term and short term physical abilities and discover the type of work or sport the horse would most enjoy.

Behavioral issues can involve anything from self-mutilation, like constant licking or chewing for no reason, to fears that do not relate to anything known by the owner. She prefers that owners work in tandem with professional dog trainers while working with any aggressive behavior.

Physical issues can involve addressing any pain of unknown origin.
